# Introduction

With this whitepaper, we would like to introduce the entire NFT community to The Jolly Roger NFT, a community-driven NFT project on the ETH blockchain. 

This paper will explain what our project stands for, the idea behind it, and what we strive to achieve. Furthermore, an in-depth overview will be given regarding the utilities, NFT distribution, and more.

NFTs are unique tokenized representations of scarce digital files that are exchanged on public blockchains. With more than $1.5B in NFT transactions generated in the first quarter of 2021, NFTs are gaining momentum through collections of digital-first memorabilia from fan-favorite.
